3D post-processing is a complex procedure consisting of a sequence of processing steps that result in the direct improvement of acquired 3D data (by laser scanning, photogrammetry), and its transformation into visually enriched (and in some cases semantically structured) geometric representations.
Post-processing also allows the creation of multiple 3D models starting from the same gathered data according to the desired application, level of detail and other additional criteria. The results of the post-processing phase are 3D geometric representations accompanied by complementary 2D media, which are the digital assets ready to be converted (or embedded) into the final web publishing formats.
